How it works
Your everyday hot and cold water flows straight from the mains. Boiling and chilled water takes four steps first.
Cold water from your mains passes through the filter first. It holds back fine grit and reduces chlorine taste and smell.
From there, the filtered water goes two ways. It's heated to the temperature you set, from 35°C to 98°C, or chilled to 8–12°C.
Every boiling pour starts with a child lock. Hold the X51's lock button for two seconds, then the boiling button, or use the 4 in 1's child-safe handle.
Chilled, filtered water arrives at your tap, for the dinner table or a drink bottle. Use the handle on the 4 in 1, or touch the panel on the X51.
Installation and ownership
Before you order, check three things. Your plumber can confirm the space and water connections, and an electrician the powerpoints.

Your plumber connects the tap to your existing hot and cold water pipes. Every Alia tap comes with a valve that keeps incoming water pressure at 500 kPa or below.
Each unit needs its own standard powerpoint in the cupboard under your sink.

The installation schematic shows a pressure limiting valve (PLV) on the cold mains. The units under the sink need standard powerpoints: two for the 4-in-1 and three for the X51.
Sparkling water comes with the Alia X51 Instant Boiling, Chilled and Sparkling Filtered Water Tap, from $3,850. It adds the Fizz-X unit and a 2.2 L CO2 cylinder to the boiling and chilled system.

An Alia instant hot water tap pours filtered boiling water at any setting from 35 °C up to 98 °C, up to 1.6 L at a time. The same Bollente heating unit powers the boiling water on every Alia boiling and chilled tap.

A boiling and chilled water tap needs a licensed plumber, standard powerpoints under the sink (two for the 4-in-1, three for the X51) and room in the sink cupboard for the units and filter. If you rent or live in a strata building, check with the owner or body corporate before any plumbing work.

The Alia 4-in-1 Instant Boiling and Chilled Filtered Water Tap is $2,500. The Alia X51 Instant Boiling and Chilled Filtered Water Tap is from $3,000, and the X51 with sparkling water is from $3,850. A replacement F5000L filter cartridge is $150 including GST.
A licensed plumber must install an Alia boiling and chilled water tap. You can use your own plumber or find an authorised installer on our installers page. A licensed electrician adds any extra powerpoints the cupboard under your sink needs.
Replace the F5000L filter cartridge every 8–12 months on average use. It is rated to 10,000 L, and a new F5000L filter cartridge is $150 including GST. The filter covers the boiling and chilled water, while your everyday hot and cold water comes from the mains and skips it.
