Key features

Key features of the Alia X51 instant boiling and chilled water tap

  • After the weekend game

The kids come in from Saturday sport, hot and thirsty. Glasses fill with chilled, filtered water straight from the panel while you start on lunch. Nobody has to wait for a jug to cool in the fridge.

  • Visitors in the lounge

Guests are settling in and someone asks for tea. Fill the pot with boiling water at the tap and carry it through, with a jug of chilled water for anyone who'd rather something cold.

  • A weeknight dinner

Fill the saucepan with boiling water for the rice, then rinse the colander under the mixer handle. One tap looks after the cooking and the washing up, and the bench stays clear.

How it works

How the Alia X51 instant boiling and chilled water tap works

Your hot and cold water comes straight from the mains. Boiling and chilled water take four steps first.

  1. Cold mains water passes through the F5000L filter on its way in. The filter catches fine grit and reduces chlorine taste and smell.

  2. From the filter, the water goes to the Bollente unit to be heated to your setting, or to the Chilled Stream unit to be chilled to 8–12°C.

  3. Unlock the panel, then touch for boiling water. Each pour gives up to 1.6 L before the unit heats more.

  4. Touch the panel for chilled, filtered water, for a glass, a jug or a drink bottle. For washing up, use the mixer handle.

Questions

X51 boiling and chilled water tap FAQs

Can't see your question? Ask our team, or call (03) 9219 0189.

Does the X51 work like a normal kitchen tap too?

Yes. Its mixer handle pours hot and cold water for washing up, cleaning and filling the sink.

That water comes from the mains and skips the filter. The boiling and chilled water from the touch panel is filtered first.

How hot does the boiling water get, and how cold is the chilled water?

Boiling water can be set from 35°C up to 98°C, just under the 100°C of a rolling boil, so it suits cooking as well as tea. Chilled water pours at 8–12°C, cold enough to drink straight from the tap.

How much boiling water do I get each time?

Up to 1.6 L per pour, which fills about eight 200ml cups. The Bollente unit's tank holds 2.4 L, so after a large pour it takes time to heat more.

Can I add sparkling water later?

Yes. Our team can swap the Chilled Stream unit for a Fizz-X unit, which makes both chilled and sparkling water. Upgrades are arranged by phone, so call (03) 9219 0189.

Is it safe to have around children?

The boiling water has a child lock that can't be switched off. To pour, hold the lock button for two seconds, then hold the boiling button.

The tap also has an anti-scald design, but boiling water can still burn, so keep children clear while you pour.

What certifications does the X51 hold?

It's WaterMark certified (WMK26897), meets AS 3718 and carries a lead-free marking.

WaterMark is the Australian certification scheme for plumbing products, and AS 3718 is the standard for water supply tapware. Its Bollente boiling unit has its own certification as a filtered boiling water appliance.

How often should I replace the filter?

Every 8–12 months, and no later than 12 months. The activated carbon ages once it's wet, so time sets the change date, not how much you use.

A new F5000L filter costs $150, with GST and delivery included.

How do I install an Alia X51 tap?

A licensed plumber must install it, either your own or one of our authorised installers. They connect the tap to your hot and cold water and fit the filter and both units under the sink.

How much space and how many powerpoints do I need?

A cupboard space 500mm wide, 580mm deep and 450mm high, plus three powerpoints.

One each powers the X51 control unit, the Bollente and the Chilled Stream. Together they draw up to 1800 W when heating and chilling at the same time.

Can I install it in a small kitchen or apartment?

Yes, if the cupboard under your sink has the space and powerpoints it needs. Check your owners corporation rules too, and ask your licensed plumber to confirm the fit.

Is the Alia X51 suitable for commercial use?

It suits an office of about 15–20 people, and the 2-year warranty applies at work too. For a café or a busier kitchen, call us on (03) 9219 0189 to talk it through.

Does the spout move?

Yes, it turns a full 360°, and it can't be fixed in one position. If it suits your sink, the X51 can be installed at 90° to the left so the mixer handle faces you.

What is the warranty period?

Every Alia product is covered by a 2-year warranty. See our warranty policy, or call (03) 9219 0189 with any questions.

Where can I buy the X51 boiling and chilled water tap?

Order it here, with free shipping anywhere in Australia, or see it at one of our selected authorised retailers. Call (03) 9219 0189 and we'll tell you the closest.
